Ten years, ten pins...bowling seemed like the perfect birthday activity. It might have been nice to have ten friends come along too, but we're trying to be financially responsible this year! (And Mom's trying to keep stress under control!)

(Actually, Ethan's name for me sounds more like "MY" but I'm never sure how to spell that.)
When the boy came home and announced he had chosen a diorama for his "Courage of Sarah Noble" project and had no idea when it was due, my heart sank a little. But then we found a folding board to make it on, Ethan started drawing where things should go, we looked up Connecticut tribes online to see what their wigwams would look like, we found a recipe for salt dough so he could build a hill that's mentioned in the story, and we checked the front yard and the recycling bin for cardboard and sticks to work with. Ethan mixed dough while I rounded up paint...anyway, it all started coming together, and I had to admit, he was right. We are a pretty awesome team.
